The IRIS-M system is a comprehensive, scalable solution for the detection and validation of colored markers used during tire manufacture. It consists of two identical modules that are mounted above and below the conveyor assembly. Each module is equipped with a high-end camera, two lasers and an illumination unit.
All the system components are supplied precalibrated. No additional on-site adaptations by a vision system specialist are required.
The system combines 2D and 3D image acquisition technologies to permit reliable marker detection. The 3D function delivers information about the position and shape of the tire, independently of the contrast characteristics of the background. The camera's color component recognizes the color of the markers unimpaired by light reflections or the presence of dirt on the tire surface.
